The Iron Trial

The Iron Trial is an awesome adventure about a not-so normal boy named Callum. It’s a very inspiring and interesting book. I would definitely recommend this book to Harry Potter and/or The Mortal Instruments fans, and fans of supernatural/magical books! -Blair G. 9th Grader

The Martian by Andy Weir

I have to thank Ralph for this recommendation! What an exciting book! Imagine what it would be like to be trapped on a planet, by yourself, with nothing to rely on but your own resourcefulness. (Until later when you can figure out how to communicate with NASA.) I was fascinated by the author’s infusion of math and science; especially botany and calculus. I loved the sub-characters and how they helped save the day back on Earth. It has been a long while since I have read a science fiction book and this one did not disappoint! If you have read this book and liked it, you might also consider reading The 5th Wave by Yancey and Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel.

Okay For Now

Detailing the struggles of overcoming prejudice in a small town, a young man discovers his potential, and realizes that even heroes have heroes. Vividly written, easy-to-relate-to, and highly capable of altering your mood, this book will leave you deep in sympathy one moment, and happy as the protagonist the next. An amazing read. 9.7/10 -Ebrahim Al-Faham
