Vividly written, easy-to-relate-to, and highly capable of altering your mood, this book will leave you deep in sympathy one moment, and happy as the protagonist the next. A fantastic read. 9.7/10

An amazingly realistic novel with a surprise twist of sci-fi, set in New York during the late 70s, this book follows Miranda as she is strung along by a series of mysterious notes that somehow seem to know what will happen before she does. Surrounding the difficulties in understanding friendship, equality, and time, this book is a classic must-read.

I recommend Kindred by Octavia Butler., a quick historical fiction/sci-fi read that won’t let you put the book down until the very last page. While very informative regarding slavery in the 1800’s, it twists time travel and romance into the mix for a great experience.

I read this book recently, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was beautifully written and would have me laughing one moment, and crying the next. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves animals like myself, but the interesting thing about this book is that you don’t have to be a dog lover to enjoy it.
