When You Reach Me

An amazingly realistic novel with a surprise twist of sci-fi, set in New York during the late 70s, this book follows Miranda as she is strung along by a series of mysterious notes that somehow seem to know what will happen before she does. Surrounding the difficulties in understanding friendship, equality, and time, this book is a classic must-read. -Elijah Bergevin, 10th Grade

A Dog’s Purpose

I read this book recently, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was beautifully written and would have me laughing one moment, and crying the next. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves animals like myself, but the interesting thing about this book is that you don’t have to be a dog lover to enjoy it. Ultimately, it ended up being more about the relationships owners have with their pets, and the extraordinary power of love. Sophia Maggio, Grade 10
